Alligator's team has been involved with client's program right from conceptual phase to design, develop, qualify, certify and deployment so as to meet the best clients' needs. In the course of such executions, Alligator has evolved and continuously improved on project management processes and quality system. This proven practice has various levels of analysis & documentation and is currently steering towards ISO9001 quality system accreditation in the coming fiscal year 2007-08.

  • In the course of design & development of systems, typically Alligator goes through the following processes;

    • Right from initial stages of customer interactions, required system specifications are analyzed and finalized in consultation with the customer.
    • Preliminary design is evolved with sizing involving material, strength and envelope requirements. The system modeling is carried out in totality keeping in view the specification requirements with additional focus on maintainability, ergonomics and thermal management requirements.
    • Preliminary design is evolved culminating in peer and customer reviews to audit the preliminary sizing, modeling and adequacy of the design to meet the specifications.
    • A detailed design encompassing various feedbacks is evolved. This also includes thermal & structural analysis, measures to address EMI/EMC requirements, electronic system design, wiring scheme, routing, layout of system elements, Manufacturing process design / planning.
    • A prototype development to prove the form, fit & function of the system may form part of this process.
    • Final realization of the product meeting the specifications.
    • A comprehensive ATP/FAT forms the acceptance criteria.
  • ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONICS
    • VME6x, cPCI backplane designs supporting slot count upto 21 slots have been deployed for various Defence programs. One of the feature of these backplanes are that they can be integrated with on-board custom I/O routing on-board which enables better tolerance in high shock & vibration applications. We have off-the-shelf backplanes available in standard 3U or 6U with or without custom I/O integrated.
    • PMC Carrier VME/cPCI boards designed to accommodate dual PMC module sites integrated with direct data interface with SBC. This interface is released through P0 overlay patch board interconnected over PO connector at the rear of the backplane. These VME/cPCI carriers support dual PMC module sites supporting for 32bit/33MHz PCI bus modules.
    • Mass Storage Boards on VME/cPCI/PCI form factors have been designed for IDE/SCSI interface for HDD/DVD-CDROM/Flash upto the storage capacities available. Flash disk based Mass Storage Board variants are designed to cater for rugged environment, with certain models with conformal coating.
    • Electrical Cable harness & looming, integration to system & subsystem, maintaining desired spatial clearance between data cables & power cables, cable interconnection through connectors, selection of cables for the type of signals / power as per standards followed by our electrical division.
